The United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD), supports the UN Member States in planning and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through knowledge sharing, capacity development, policy advisory, research, and partnerships with a particular focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and Landlocked Developing States (LLDCs). UNOSD was established in Incheon, Republic of Korea in 2011 by the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Korea. UNOSD is part of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

The “2024 SDGs Youth Summer Camp” will be held at the Global Green Growth Institute located in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 20 to 23 August. The summer camp will focus on the plastic pollution crisis. The participants will understand how to contribute to ending the plastic pollution crisis through reduce, reuse, recycle, reorient and diversify and managing the plastic pollution legacy and develop ideas for policies to help end the plastic pollution crisis.

UNOSD will co-organize the National Wetland Inventory Training Programme Module 1: Introduction to National Wetland Inventories at the National Institute of Ecology located in Seocheon, Republic of Korea from 8 to 13 September 2024 with the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands to support UN Member States and the Convention’s Parties to gain knowledge and know-how on how to undertake a National Wetland Inventory within an appropriate policy, scientific and technical framework.

UNOSD will organize the Central American Dialogue on Circular Economy: circularity of resources and solid waste management to accelerate Sustainable Development Goals from 23 to 25 July 2024 in San Salvador, El Salvador. The event is co-organized by UNOSD, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), UN Resident Coordinator's Office in El Salvador and the Central American Integration System Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD), with the support of the Korean Environment Corporation (K-eco) of the Ministry of Environment of Republic of Korea.
