The United Nations Office for Sustainable Development (UNOSD), supports the UN Member States in planning and implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through knowledge sharing, capacity development, policy advisory, research, and partnerships with a particular focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs), Small Island Developing States (SIDS), and Landlocked Developing States (LLDCs). UNOSD was established in Incheon, Republic of Korea in 2011 by the United Nations and the Government of the Republic of Korea. UNOSD is part of the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

UNOSD will organize the Western Africa Workshop on Waste Management and the Circular Economy from 26 to 28 August 2025 in Accra, Ghana. This sub-regional workshop seeks to enhance foundational knowledge on waste management and resource circularity data quality assurance and quality control, while promoting evidence-based practices and tools to address critical barriers to a circular economy for waste in the region.

UNOSD will organize the 2025 International Mayors Forum from 14 to 16 October 2025 in Toyota City, Japan. The forum is co-organized by UN DESA and UN-Habitat in the auspices of Toyota City, Japan. The objective of the International Mayors’ Forum is to provide an annual platform to local and regional governments for policy dialogue and knowledge sharing on key aspects related to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

UNOSD will organize the National Wetlands Inventory Training Programme Module from 8 to 12 September 2025 in Incheon, Republic of Korea. The training is co-organized with the National Institute of Ecology of Korea in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Wetlands. The training will bring together participants from 10 countries to exchange knowledge and explore solutions for better wetland data management.
